What Are the Types of Regenerated Polyester Staple Fiber?

There are many types of recycled polyester staple fibre fabrics. In addition to spinning and manufacturing pure polyester knitted articles, many products are blended or interwoven with various textile fibres. This improves the defects of pure polyester fabrics and reflects that polyester fibres are better. Recycled polyester staple fibre knitted articles are advancing toward synthetic fibres such as wool, silk, hemp, and deerskin, and the following types have appeared.

Ⅰ. Types of regenerated polyester staple fibre

1. Polyester fibre artificial silk knitted material

This is a kind of recycled polyester staple fibre fabric with a natural silk appearance, which is woven from the polyester filament or staple fibre yarns with a round shape and a variety of cross-sections. There is no need for ironing, etc., which is very popular among consumers. There are many types in daily life, such as polyester silk, polyester crepe, polyester satin, etc. These recycled polyester staple fibre imitation silk fabrics have all the advantages of polyester fibres, like not being easy to wrinkle, do not need to be ironed, being easy to clean, being wear-resistant, etc. Still, its only drawback is poor moisture absorption.

2. Polyester wool-like textile material

This type of polyester filament uses polyester stretch yarn, polyester network yarn, or various cross-section polyester yarn of different shapes as raw materials, or uses medium and long recycled polyester staple fibers and medium and long viscose, or medium and long acrylic.  The woollen-style textile materials are called worsted wool-like and medium-length wool-like fabrics, woven into yarns by blending them into strings. The price is much lower than that of the same type of wool fabric. This kind of recycled polyester staple fibre fabric has the feel of woollen cloth, is fluffy and soft, has good elasticity, is very strong and durable, has good abrasion resistance, and is easy to clean.

Ⅱ. The superiority and application of regenerated polyester staple fiber

1. Advantages

Compared with the original pure polyester fabric, the modified recycled polyester staple fibre adds superior performance based on the original version and is more commonly used. Polyester staple fibre refers to a short-fibre, generally a few millimetres to several tens of millimetres, and can also be made from filaments after being cut. The short fibre must undergo a spinning process to form a continuous yarn after twisting and interlocking between the fibres, which can be used for weaving. Recycled polyester staple fibre fabric has hairiness, plump and loose appearance and is often used in autumn and winter fabrics.

2. Applications

Recycled polyester staple fiber fabrics are widely used in clothing and industrial products. For example, flame-retardant polyester has a wide range of applications due to its flame-retardant properties. In addition to its irreplaceable effects in industrial textiles, architectural interior decoration, and vehicle interior decoration, it also plays a great role in the field of fire protection clothing.
